Ras Abu Aboud Residence

Doha, Qatar - 2013 - In Construction

This striking and intriguing residential project in Qatar is notable for its dramatic roof-level cantilevers and sky bridges. The concept sprung from the client’s need for 60% coverage of the tight plot, in addition to a full suite of facilities for residents. As it was not possible to accommodate the facilities at ground level, our designers proposed to place them on the roof.

The result is a series of spectacular interconnected walkways in the sky, where residents can enjoy stunning city views as well as the gym, swimming pool, multi-function area and café. A technical floor is built under the roof, to facilitate the habitable area, with parking underneath the building. Materials used to finesse the overall contemporary aesthetic include ceramics, wood, stone and glass. The narrow corridors in between the buildings also provide greenery and shade.
